Voting for Young Adults, College Students, and Folks Abroad

  • We highly encourage all college students, young adults, and folks abroad who may be moving around a lot to vote here in Shakopee via Absentee Ballot or in person.
  • 17 year-olds can register to vote if they will be 18 years old on November 8, 2022.

Have other questions? Check out the Secretary of States guide.

Request Your Absentee Ballot

  • You can request your absentee ballot now by clicking the button below. They will be sent out at the end of September.
  • Absentee Ballots can be mailed in or dropped off at Shakopee City Hall (485 Gorman St. S).

Did you know you can track your absentee ballot online to see when it has been received, processed, and counted? Click here to track your ballot.

2022 Primary

There is a Primary Election on August 9 to decide who we are running against this Fall. It will be either Bob Loonan or Erik Mortensen. Both are bad choices for Shakopee.

Brad Tabke’s name will still appear on the ballot but we have no DFL opponents.

Your voting location may have changed this year because of redistricting. Click here to find your polling place for 2022.

Donations are critical to winning this Fall. Did you know you can donate $100 per couple / $50 per person each year to our campaign and have it fully refunded through the State’s program to keep big money out of our elections? To maximize this refund, make a recurring annual donation.
