Phone Volunteer

As you know, it has been a crazy, crazy couple of weeks and I hope you and your family are doing well during this COVID-19 crisis.

We have been working really hard at the Legislature to help Minnesotans through this and I’m really proud of the work we have been doing together!! But there is much more to be done.

If you have any COVID-related questions about unemployment, businesses, health, etc – please email me at [email protected].

And since you may have some time on your hand – I have a great opportunity for you to volunteer help our community.

Volunteer

There are so many questions – and fears – in Shakopee today surrounding COVID-19. I think it is important to start reaching out to our neighbors in a more direct, meaningful, and helpful manner.

This Wednesday, we are going to hold an online training for volunteers who would like to make phone calls to Shakopee residents. These phone calls will simply be to ask if they have questions regarding COVID, share our contact info, and listen to ideas on what we could be doing better as a State and Community.

I would love your help! My goal is to make 1,000 phone calls before April 14!

I know. That is a big number!! To make this as successful as possible for you, we are having a 30-minute training this Wednesday at 7 pm.

Answers

  1. There is no minimum or maximum but would like volunteers to make at least 20 calls with an optimal goal of 50.
  2. You can make the calls on your schedule between 10 am and 7:30 pm from the comfort of your home.
  3. You’ll use your own phone. We give you a link for access to the phone numbers.
  4. Don’t worry. If anyone has questions you cannot answer, you can make a note for me to give them a call.
