There are many changes happening in 2020 for Minnesota elections. Secretary of State Steve Simon served five terms in the Minnesota House and was elected state-wide as Secretary of State in 2014.

2020 Presidential Timeline
- Jan 17 – Presidential Primary absentee voting begins
- March 3 – Presidential Primary Election Day (Choose each party’s candidate)
- November 3 – Election Day
2020 All Other State Offices Timeline
- February 25 – Precinct Caucuses (each party discusses priorities and choose delegates for the partisan endorsing convention)
- Each party will then choose delegates to the state convention – dates vary – for endorsements
- June 26 – Primary absentee voting begins
- August 11 – Primary Election (to choose final candidate for each major party that will appear on the ballot)
- November 3 – Election Day
